As an interdisciplinary research center, we host international conferences with renowned Jewish Studies scholars and speakers.

Early Judaism Conference

The last several decades have witnessed new approaches to the history and literature of Early Judaism, especially since the beginning of the 21st century. During this spring 2025 conference, an international group of scholars assessed developments from the last 25 years of research and looked ahead to where the discipline might be headed.

Oxford Summer Institute

Since 2016, the Berman Center for Jewish Studies has co-sponsored the Oxford Summer Institute in Modern and Contemporary Judaism, for which Professor Jodi Eichler-Levine and Professor Hartley Lachter serve as co-conveners, along with founders Dr. Miri Freud-Kandel (Oxford) and Professor Adam Ferziger (Bar Ilan University).
